The Cisco PVDM4-32 is a high-density digital signal processor (DSP) module designed for Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers, providing advanced media processing functions such as voice conferencing, transcoding, secure voice, media optimization, and transrating. It supports up to 32 low-complexity channels, 24 medium-complexity channels, or 16 high-complexity channels, depending on codec requirements. This hot-pluggable module is installed directly on the router motherboard or T1/E1 NIM slots, enabling efficient voice and video services without consuming additional chassis space. With enhanced DSP architecture and wide codec support including G.711, G.729, G.722, G.728, and iLBC, the PVDM4-32 delivers scalable, reliable, and high-quality voice processing, making it ideal for unified communications and enterprise collaboration deployments.
