The Cisco ASA5555-K9 (ASA 5555-X) is a high-throughput, 1U rack-mount next-generation firewall appliance that delivers eight Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 data ports plus a dedicated Gigabit management port and a console interface. It offers robust performance with approximately 4 Gbps stateful firewall throughput, 1.2 Gbps intrusion prevention throughput, and 700 Mbps IPsec VPN throughput. The appliance can support up to 5,000 IPsec VPN peers, unlimited concurrent users, 1 million simultaneous connections, 22,000 new connections per second, and provides scalability through a single expansion slot and high-availability clustering. Its compact and powerful design makes it well-suited for enterprise edge deployments requiring both performance and flexibility.
