The Cisco 1602‑R is a compact 1600‑series modular router designed for small offices and branch environments. It includes a single 10Base‑T Ethernet LAN port plus an AUI port, and integrates a 56 kbps four‑wire DSU/CSU for WAN connectivity, with an additional WAN interface expansion slot for various optional modules. Built on a run‑from‑RAM architecture, it comes with 4 MB flash (expandable up to 16 MB) and 8 MB DRAM (up to 24 MB), running Cisco IOS from RAM for better performance, and supports protocols like PPP, Frame Relay, X.25, SMDS, IP, IPX, SNA and AppleTalk. The router offers versatile WAN flexibility, optional firewall/VPN support (IOS Firewall Feature Set with CBAC), NAT, QoS features, SNMP/Telnet/console management, and plug‑and‑play deployment tools like AutoInstall and Cisco ConfigMaker
