The HPE J9851A is a 12‑slot modular switch chassis in the Aruba/HPE 5400R zl2 series, engineered for enterprise campus networks requiring high scalability and flexibility. The 7U rack‑mount frame supports up to twelve line cards and accommodates redundant power supplies and management modules in separate rear slots. With a 2 Tbps switching fabric capable of line‑rate 40 GbE uplinks and up to 96 10 GbE ports, it delivers low-latency, high-capacity Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching. The chassis supports VSF stacking for unified control, hot-swappable components, and is fully compatible with both v2 and v3 zl2 modules using current KB.16.x firmware
