The Cisco N2K-C2232TM-E-10GE is a 1U rack-mountable fabric extender designed to simplify access-layer deployment in data centers by acting as a remote line card for Cisco Nexus parent switches. It features 32 front-end 1/10 GbE RJ-45 copper ports for host connections and 8 rear-facing 10 GbE SFP+ uplink ports, delivering up to 80 Gbps per direction (160 Gbps full duplex) of fabric throughput. The chassis includes redundant hot-swappable fans and dual power supplies, supports FCoE over Category 6a/7 cabling up to 30 m, and is managed directly through Nexus 5000, 6000, 7000, or 9000 Series switches via Cisco NX-OS for unified management. Hardware forwarding is rated at approximately 800 Gbps (595 Mpps), optimizing performance in high-density environments.
