The Cisco ASA5506-K9 is a compact Next-Generation Firewall in the ASA 5500-X Series, offering eight Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 data ports and a separate Gigabit management port, along with USB and console interfaces. Built for small to mid-sized offices, it delivers up to 300 Mbps firewall throughput, 125 Mbps with advanced features like application control (AVC) and intrusion prevention (IPS), supports roughly 100 Mbps VPN performance, and can manage 5000 new connections per second with unlimited user nodes. Equipped with 4 GB RAM and 8 GB flash memory, it provides modular expansion through the optional Security Plus license for advanced features such as HA clustering, increased VLANs, and additional VPN peers.
