The HPE JG723A, branded as the HP 870 Unified Wired-WLAN Controller, is a 2U rack-mount appliance engineered for large-scale, unified wired and wireless network management. It offers 12 auto-sensing Gigabit RJ-45 ports, 12 1 Gb/s SFP ports, and 4 10 Gb/s SFP+ uplink ports, along with dedicated console and out-of-band management interfaces, and redundant power supply support for resilient operations. Built for enterprise environments, it supports up to 1,536 managed access points and 30,000 users, delivering up to 40 Gb/s of centralized throughput with sub-second failover. Enterprise-grade features include advanced RF management via “Wi-Fi Clear Connect,” intelligent load balancing, airtime fairness, deep QoS policies, Layer 2/3 security, IPv6 support, and seamless integration with HPE’s IMC platform across both wired and wireless domains
