The Extreme Networks 5520-VIM-4YE is a hot-pluggable Versatile Interface Module (VIM) designed to enhance the switching capabilities of the 5520 Series. It offers four SFP28 ports, each capable of 25 GbE throughput (with optional 10 GbE operation through partitioning), and includes MACsec encryption for secure layer-2 data transmission. This compact plug-in module delivers up to 100 Gbps aggregate bandwidth, supports both Extreme’s Fabric Engine and Switch Engine operating modes, and enables seamless high-speed uplink expansion tailored for modern data centers and enterprise networks.
