The Cisco A9K-MOD160-TR is a 160 Gbps modular Ethernet line card designed for the ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, tailored for high-density packet transport applications. It supports up to 160 ports of 100 GbE or 400 ports of 40 GbE when paired with appropriate modular port adapters, delivers line-rate forwarding for both Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic, and enables packet-synchronization features (like IEEE 1588) for services such as mobile backhaul. Designed for scalability and flexibility, this hot-swappable card offers a choice of “Packet Transport Optimized” (basic QoS) or “Service Edge Optimized” (enhanced QoS) variants and integrates seamlessly into ASR 9000 platforms without requiring chassis or cooling upgrades.
