The Cisco ASA5545-K9 (part of the ASA 5500-X Series) is a 1U rack-mount next-generation firewall designed for mid-to-large scale enterprise deployments. It offers 8 Gigabit RJ-45 data ports, plus an additional Gigabit management port, and includes a modular slot for optional interface expansion. With approximately 3 Gb/s stateful firewall throughput, 400 Mb/s VPN throughput, and support for 2,500 IPsec VPN peers and up to 750,000 concurrent sessions, it’s well-suited for secure internet edge or data center environments. The platform includes 12 GB memory, 8 GB flash storage, and the option to enable advanced threat services via FirePOWER for intrusion prevention and application visibility. It also supports high-availability configurations and advanced security contexts, providing robust performance and deployment flexibility.
