The Cisco ASA5525-FPWR-K9, known as the ASA 5525-X with FirePOWER Services, is a compact yet powerful 1U rack-mount next-generation firewall ideal for mid-sized enterprises and branch office deployments. It features 8 Gigabit RJ-45 data ports, a dedicated Gigabit management port, a serial console, two USB 2.0 ports, and one expansion module slot for optional interface upgrades. Engineered for robust performance, it delivers up to 2 Gbps stateful firewall throughput (1 Gbps for multiprotocol), 650 Mbps of combined firewall, AVC, and NGIPS throughput, and 300 Mbps of IPsec VPN throughput. The appliance supports up to 500,000 concurrent sessions, 750 VPN peers, and includes 8 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash storage, along with an SSD slot for local logging. It comes with a 400W internal AC power supply, supports both 3DES and AES encryption, and offers rich network security services like intrusion prevention, application visibility, and advanced threat protection—all within a streamlined form factor.
