The Cisco CWDM-MUX-4-SF2 is a passive, rack-mountable single-fiber multiplexer/demultiplexer module that efficiently combines and separates four CWDM data channels (operating at wavelengths of 1490 nm, 1530 nm, 1570 nm, and 1610 nm) over a single optical fiber, using dual fibers only for GBIC/SFP connections. It adheres to the ITU-T G.694.2 CWDM grid, requires no power or configuration, and optimizes fiber infrastructure by allowing multiple Gigabit Ethernet or Fibre Channel links to run simultaneously over the same fiber strand. Its compact form factor makes it a practical solution for scalable, cost-effective metro and campus network deployments.
